"Blood on the Pavement: Notes on Healing" | September/October 2022

We are under attack — the overturning of Roe vs Wade; policies targeting queer and trans youth, bans against teaching critical race theory; missing indigenous children; police violence against Black lives and people experiencing mental health crises; violence against the land, which disproportionately harms BIPOC communities and low-income families.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, but already we are exhausted.

“Notes on Healing” uses visual art and sound to explore the space between violence and healing. When there is always another loss, another tragedy, how do we move forward? When we are faced with continual violence against land, body, and truth, how can we heal?
